The footstools are typical of the Bamboo furniture that was popularised by the Prince Regent William the Fourth (1762-1830), who's dedication to his compulsion to be seen as an equal of the great Chinese Emperors, resulted in literally thousands of items of "Bamboo" furniture being made for the Royal Pavilion at Brighton, England, by the very best of English cabinet makers.

These giltwood craftsmen made stools are of the Regency period and are in original and complete, but used condition.
